Ume Yummy: A Hidden Gem for Comfort Food in Winnipeg

They have some really nice small side dishes that you don't usually find in most chinese restaurants. The portions for main entrees are on small side unless you get the diy noodles. Ordered the sechuan spicy soup but the soup taste wasnt that great. Bean curd ribs and rice was decent just too little ribs and too much rice. They have mango pomelo sago that was really satisfying as dessert.

I recently visited Ume Yummy, and it was an absolute delight! The food was incredibly tasty, and the owner's service was warm, attentive, and polite. I really enjoyed my dining experience there, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. I highly recommend Ume Yummy to anyone in search of delicious food and exceptional hospitality!

I frequent Ume yummy almost every week for lunch as i work somewhat close. The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful. I always get greeted with a warm smile. The food is great. Yes i have had better elsewhere but for around 10$ taxes in for an amazing soup with noodles and 2 sides it cant be beat. Places like chosabi are almost 2x the price.. I will continue to frequent here for long to come

Very similar to HK tea house, closest you can get in town, can’t compare stir fried dishes with local HK restaurants but soup noodles, breakfast, baked dishes, stews are pretty good.

Everything about this restaurant is wonderful. Food, service and atmosphere. Comfort food with every order. Do yourself a favour and treat yourself to this gem. You'll be grateful you did!

Been here a few times. I find this place pretty decent for comfort food. This time I ordered for myself, curry beef tendon on white rice. It's a good serving for one person. Sauce could be a more bold and maybe a tad thicker. Perhaps once that's done it will earn my 5 stars. Till than it's a 4.

Pretty cute small place. Inside has 4,5 tables. Seems like a family business to me. Their menu is vast. They offer Hong kong/ Taiwanese/ Chinese food along with munchies and snack in case you don't have a big appetite. They also serve brunch combo during 10am till noon. If you are tired of the same borning canadian chinese menus, this is the place for you to go for something different but not outside of your comfortable zone :) A big bonus to the restaurant is they serve you hot tea when coming inside and refill it for you. The portion was a lot compared to the price you paid, and its quality is decent/above average. The lady is so nice that she offered to pack the food for us to take home, instead of giving u boxes and let u pack it urself in other restaurants Overall I would come back to try more different dishes on their menu!!!!

The food here is yummy and super affordable. Less than 10$ for a bowl of soup noodles and your choice of topping. The owner is really friendly and service is great. Been back with a couple friends and they love it too.
